A female Ohio judge is refusing to use the glass staircase in Columbus' new $105 million glass courthouse to avoid possible "peepers," The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Judge Julie Lynch says the steps leading to the second floor are elevated over a busy walkway, leaving women in skirts or dresses exposed to unauthorized viewing, the newspaper reports.
Security guards have been alerted to the threat to legal briefs and have reportedly been told to keep their own eyes trained on anyone who might be "peeping," the Associated Press reports.
According to USA TODAY'S Luke Kerr-Dineen, who posted the item, the director of public facilities management says the building's designers are considering tweaking the glass to make it less transparent, although some non-peeping observers worry that it would compromise the artistic integrity of the design.
